  • Parents and caregivers play a vital role in the education and well-being of children, and quality education is a collaborative effort between the family and the school. We want parents to work closely with teachers and attend parent meetings and scheduled consultations. We welcome — and encourage — parents to get involved in a variety of ways at GSLA.

  • Teachers use a typical grading system, along with national standardized testing, which is done three times a year, and it is extremely important that parents know their child's academic progress. Report cards are sent out quarterly, and we encourage parents to attend parent-teacher conferences and connect with their child’s teacher if there are any concerns.

  • Good Shepherd Lutheran Academy strives to cultivate a classroom culture that is respectful and nurturing. We understand student behavior issues arise, and parents or caregivers will be notified on an individual basis to address disciplinary concerns.

  • Yes, Good Shepherd Lutheran Academy is nationally accredited through WELS School Accreditation (WELSSA). WELSSA evaluates an academic institution based on Scripture and sound educational principles. These are recognized nationally as part of the National Council for Private School Accreditation. Schools compare the quality of their programs against nationally recognized standards through a self-study process, and GSLA develops a school improvement plan that correlates with the five-year accreditation cycle.
